1. Watch your Eating Habit

A person’s eating habit is probably the main reason why they became overweight. Eating properly is the first 

and simplest step to lose the extra pounds from your body. Usually, a poor eating habit results of emotional, 

mental, and even spiritual problems that a person must immediately resolve to make any progress. Some 

people also turn to food to comfort themselves whenever they are having a hard time in life. Handling your 

problems without turning away from a diet for losing weight and exercise is the ideal way to shed the extra 

pounds.

2. Be Ready, Again.

If this is not the first time you tried to lose weight, be very sure that this time you are entirely sure and be 

wary of diets that promises quick weightloss. Do not focus on the immediate loss of weight because this 

often leads to unhealthy eating habit and short-term success. This kind of diets causes your metabolism to 

slow down and makes a person eat less to lose weight and ultimately result in discouraging them and give up 

on it entirely. Instead, you should focus on improving your health and eventually make you slim and improve 

your health.

3. Be in control

Most of the time, people only have a few things that they are in total control of and one them is what to put 

in your mouth. It’s just a matter of not ignoring the food you are going to eat. Nobody is going to require you 

to lose control in a friend's party or when eating in a restaurant and nobody would definitely tell you to eat 

everything put in front of you. Keep in mind that you have to be particular and careful with what you are 

going to eat.

4. Eat Nourishing Meals Frequently and Slowly

Skipping a meal is not very beneficial to lose the excess weight you have. It is important to understand that 

doing this will only make your metabolism slow and conserve energy. Eating slower will also help in the 

process since it will give your body enough time to tell that it is already full and doesn’t need any more.

Eating also healthy foods like whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and a small amount of animal protein will 

allow you to eat as much as you want without gaining weight. And it would be best to cut down on sugar to 

maintain your body’s fat burning capacity.

5. Begin today and relax


Don’t be too excited in following a diet for losing weight and the exercise program you find. Changing too 

much of everything too fast results in feeling bad and getting discouraged. Just be patient at the beginning 

and eventually everything will fall into place.

Not only will this help you lose weight, it'll cut down the cost of the heating bill, giving you extra money you can use to get a gym membership.

Rewarding yourself when you meet goals will help you to stay motivated when trying to lose weight. If you endure 60 minutes on the treadmill or exercise bike, treat yourself to something nice afterwards. Diets don't work all the time. Instead of starting a fad diet, watch what you eat. Make small changes, one at a time and go from that point. You will start to lose pounds when you cut out foods or drinks that are not healthy for you.

Traditionally, nutrient density has been spoken of in terms of nutrients per unit of weight or volume, i.e. calories per ounce, etc. Of far more use, however, is to think of the nutrient density in terms of nutrients per CALORIE. To keep from overindulging when eating out, plan what you're going to eat ahead of time. When you look at a menu, it's easy to be tempted by the fatty appetizers or high calorie deserts. Instead, decide on what you want and avoid spending time on the menu. Make sure to pick something you enjoy so you aren't tempted by the meals of the people you're dining with.

To aid in your weight loss, then look to the color blue. Blue, as a tranquil color, works as an appetite suppressant. You could use a blue tablecloth, eat off blue plates, or even dress in blue. Stay away from colors like red, yellow or orange because these will increase your appetite.

The elliptical machine is also low impact, so you aren't putting that much strain on your joints.

It's 11:30 AM. You've been up since 5 o'clock and the hunger meter is on high. "What to eat?" you think to yourself.

You pore over the menu for the deli downstairs but nothing you can allow yourself looks that good. Sure, you could go out for fast food but there's a meeting coming up and you don't really want to move your car and then have to find a new parking spot when you return.

So you decide not to go out. That leaves eating in.

You look at your choices, wishing you'd had the foresight to bring something from home. There's the vending machine in the break room, filled with plastic-wrapped, rubber-textured sandwiches, bagels, muffins and Danish. Ugh, you keep spinning the carousels, hoping that by some miracle, there will be a vegetable snack plate or something half-way decent. You narrow down your choices to a cup of noodle soup or a chicken breast sandwich.

Now you have another choice: eat something to take the edge off or power through the minutes of temptation until you are sitting in your meeting and eating is out of the question. After an hour of dreary, repetitive discussions, your hunger may have calmed down.

How you handle it each day, depends on your mood. Often, if we can get through that one tempting half hour, we're set for the afternoon and can easily wait for our well-planned light dinner. On other days, you know in your heart that if you don't eat something, you won't be able to concentrate on your work because all you can think about is food while you try to conceal the embarrassment of a gurgling stomach.

On those days, take the chicken sandwich, remove the bun, and microwave the miniscule piece of chicken provided. Then cut it into tiny pieces and eat slowly with a plastic knife and fork. If you can make the pea-sized pieces last for 15 or 20 minutes, you'll feel like you've actually eaten an entire meal and be on your way to a pleasant non-food-focused afternoon on a very limited caloric intake.

If you truly want to control your weight, you can do it anywhere. The key is never to eat until you've had a lengthy internal dialog with yourself that forces you into a full awareness of your food intake and then select the lesser of all evils and consume it as slowly as you can manage.

Even trapped in the office with nothing more than a killer vending machine, you can turn bleak choices into a self-esteem building triumph.
